Dominique Jackson 

Miss Black Ohio USA Talented Teen 2012 Dominique Jackson is a 17-year-old senior at Fort Hayes Arts and Academic High School in Columbus, Ohio.  Actively involved in her community and school, Dominique was elected Senior Class Vice President for the 2011-2012 school year. In the past, she has worked to raise money for breast cancer research and brought to light the issue of poverty to the Fort Hayes student body. In 2010, she was honored as the “Volunteer of the Year” from Youth to Youth International, a community-based drug prevention and youth leadership program founded in 1982, focusing primarily on middle school and high school students. During her tenure with Youth to Youth International, Dominique has grown into a responsible adult speaking in front of crowds of different ages, gender, races, and social backgrounds on the importance of living a drug-free lifestyle. She has traveled locally and nationally speaking on behalf of the organization about the dangers of prescription drug abuse.

Dominique’s leadership skills have flourished in the Girls Rock Columbus Chase Leadership Academy, a mentoring organization for young women, where she educates her peers on current social issues as well as networks with women entrepreneurs to gain varying perspectives on how to break the glass ceiling on the climb to success.

Her career aspirations include attending a top state college in Ohio majoring in either Marketing or Communications.  She hopes to travel across the globe assisting third world countries in economic and community development.
